Defence housing fan cleaning in Darwin gets booked for one of two dates: a vacating inspection or a routine one. Either way you get the number before we start and a photo of every fan after.
We clean fans and we photograph them. We do not set the inspection standard and we are not a bond cleaner, so if the whole house needs doing, book a bond cleaner and have them book us for the fans.

The price is the number you get before we book
Ours is counted, not estimated. Up to five ceiling fans is $189. Six to eight is $249. Nine or more is $319. Your first exhaust fan is cleaned free with any booking, and extra exhaust fans on the same visit are $25 each.
The only thing that moves it is height. Fans that need more than a standard ladder are $30 on top, and you hear that at the count, not on the invoice.
Not sure of your fan count? Walk the house and include the outdoor and verandah fans. They are the ones people forget and the ones that come back dirtiest.
Booked around your march out, not around our calendar
The posting cycle concentrates moves into two windows, January and July. Everyone is chasing the same trades in the same fortnight, and fans are the job that gets left until the house is nearly empty.
An empty house is the easy version for us: nothing to move, no working around furniture, and a standard home is done in under an hour. Give us your march out date and we will put the fans in ahead of it rather than on top of it.

What you get to put in the file
Two photos per fan, before and after, sent through after the visit. An itemised invoice with the fan count on it, so the line reads as a number and a date rather than a description.
We will not tell you what your inspection will ask for, because that is not ours to say. What we will say is that a photographed fan with a dated invoice behind it is a very different conversation from a fan somebody remembers as dirty.
The exhaust fans in the bathroom and laundry
Bathroom and laundry exhaust fans get skipped because the build-up sits behind the cover rather than on top of it where you would notice. In Darwin humidity it packs into a mat across the grille and the fan stops shifting much air.
We take the cover off, clean it, and clean the blades and the housing behind it. First one is free with any ceiling fan booking, extras are $25 each on the same visit.
Scope
What we do not do in a DHA home
- Cleaning only. No motors, no wiring, no balancing, no repairs. If a fan has an electrical fault we will tell you what we saw so you can report it through your usual maintenance channel.
- We are not a bond cleaner. No ovens, no carpets, no walls, no windows, no blinds. Fans, and the photos of them.
- No air conditioning, no ductwork, no rangehood filter degreasing. We do not go into the duct run above a bathroom exhaust fan, only the fan itself.
- High-mounted fans are $30 on top for the access gear. If one cannot be reached safely it comes off the price, and you will know at the count rather than afterwards.

Will this satisfy my inspection?
We do not set the standard and we will not claim to speak for whoever is inspecting, so the honest answer is that we cannot promise you an outcome we do not control. What we control is the work and the evidence: blade tops, the housing and the outside of the motor cage cleaned properly, and a before-and-after photo of every fan. If a fan is not visibly cleaner after we have been, we re-clean it on the spot, and if you are still not happy that fan is free.

I am posting in January. How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you have an uplift date. January and July are the busiest fortnights of the year in Darwin for every trade, and fans are usually the last thing people think of. Booking early also means we can come once the furniture is gone, which is faster and cleaner for everyone.
Do you clean the exhaust fans too, or just the ceiling fans?
Both. The first exhaust fan is free with any ceiling fan booking and extras are $25 each on the same visit. We clean the cover, the blades and the housing behind it. We do not clean the duct run above the ceiling and we do not degrease rangehood filters.
Can I get photos and an invoice to keep with my paperwork?
Yes, both, as standard. Before-and-after photos of every fan and an itemised invoice with the fan count and the date on it. We send them through after the visit so you have them whether or not anyone ever asks for them.
We already have a cleaner booked. Is there any point?
Only if the fans are the gap, and often they are. A blade top takes longer to get properly clean from a ladder than the rest of a room does, so it is a common thing to find still marked when someone looks closely. We are happy to be booked as one line item alongside your cleaner rather than instead of them, and your cleaner can book us directly if that is easier.
